GENERAL INFORMATION
A summer resort and a fishing
village, Vrsar is situated on a
peninsula which encloses from
the north the unusually
picturesque,9-kilometer long,
about 600 meter wide and up to
30-meter deep Lim Canal, the
lowest sub emerged part of the
35-kilometer long Lim bay. Vrsar
has a population of 2 295
inhabitants. It is surrounded by
gentle hills covered with
pine-groves, shrubs and
vineyards. There are many coves,
creeks and beaches along the
shore. Off the coast there is a
string of green islets. On the
surrounding hill-tops ruins of
Illyrian castles and along the
coast remains of Roman
buildings.
