group of islands in Istra and
perhaps in the whole Adriatic,
too. The Brijuni archipelago

1983 they became a national
park. The largest island in the
group is Veliki Brijun.The
islands are separated from the
mainland by the Fažana canal. To
reach the islands, one must
embark in Fažana (tickets are
sold in the Brijuni national
park office near the dock).The
islands are mostly covered with
shrubs, grass, parks, evergreen
oaks, laurels and conifers. On
the islands there are 2 hotels.
